The graduate certificate program in Music at Wesleyan College equips musicians to practice their discipline in an increasingly digital and intersectional world, while also creating a stepping stone for post-bachelor students who want to delve deeper into music study but are not yet ready to commit to a full-fledged Master’s program. In keeping with the liberal arts tradition of Wesleyan College, this program will teach students to adapt to a quickly changing professional landscape, think critically and creatively about music, and develop practical skills in performance, collaboration, and technology use. The program is designed to allow students maximum flexibility due to the mix of online and in-person options offered, up to 100% online. The certificate program consists of 12 credits and typically takes 8-12 months to complete. Students may enter the program in any of 5 entry points (mid-August, mid-October, mid-January, mid-March and mid-May).

Graduates of the certificate program will be assessed on the same learning outcomes as the master’s program.

Program Curriculum 12 hours

To earn a graduate certificate, the student must complete all coursework, maintain a minimum 3.00 GPA and have no more than one C in a course.

Note:

For those who wish to continue enrollment to seek the full master’s degree, the GPA required for admission is a minimum 3.00 GPA and no more than one C in the certificate program.
