The Master of Science in Nonprofit Management program at Wesleyan College aims to train professionals who can offer research-based insight and instruction in response to the increasing demands in the world of nonprofit businesses. Through a strong consideration of ethical data sourcing and use, a focus on the values of justice and diversity, and the appreciation of employee health and wellbeing as a systemic value, our graduates will be able to provide the skills and knowledge to form and manage nonprofit organizations, fundraise properly and provide the skills for working with and managing an array of volunteers.
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Develop the knowledge of behavioral elements of the organization and how to manage a diverse workforce
- Demonstrate the knowledge of data analysis techniques utilized in the business decision-making process
- Understand and apply concepts, principles, and processes related to nonprofit organizations
- Apply the related ethical and legal practices and guidelines for public, private, and nonprofits
- Apply strategies related to marketing and communications within nonprofit organizations
- Understand and apply the theories, policies, and practices of social entrepreneurship within nonprofit
- Understand and apply strategies for hiring, managing, developing, and retaining volunteers in the nonprofit setting
- Apply the concepts needed to properly budget, finance, and develop resource planning to nonprofit organizations
