POL 351: Nuclear Weapons Goal: To familiarize students with the development and role of nuclear weapons in the international system. Content: This course examines the impact of nuclear weapons on politics, society and culture, focusing, although not exclusively on the American experience. Topics covered include the Manhattan Project, the atomic bombing of Japan, the impact of nuclear weapons on the Cold War, and future prospects for proliferation and terrorism. Gen. Ed.
