HIS 306: Archives and History Goal: This course introduces students to the methodologies, principles, practices and legal and ethical challenges of archival and records management. Content: The course will introduce the ways historians use archives and the ways archivists work to preserve archival material. It will introduce archival best practices and emphasize hands-on experiences working with sample collections and original materials. Prerequisite(s): Satisfactory completion of College writing proficiency requirement or permission of instructor. Credit: 3 Degree Level: Undergraduate
