NUR 302: Holistic Nursing Care I: Fundamental Principles and Skills Content: The nurse’s role as clinician is the foundation for this course. Use of the nursing process, therapeutic communication, skill mastery and application of concepts of assessment are integrated in the clinical laboratory and select community settings. A holistic framework provides the structure for practice, enabling the student to recognize the uniqueness of each client and the importance of continuity of care. Beginning technical competency for clinical skills is expected with an emphasis on the comprehensive care plan for the individual healthy adult, child or older person.
