NUR 301: Physical Assessment and Health Promotion Content: Head to toe health assessment is taught using a focused system approach, including health history and physical examination skills, as well as health promotion, restoration, and maintenance activities related to caring for diverse clients. Students are expected to master basic assessment sequencing, techniques and skill mastery related to assessment for adult, children and geriatric clients. Cultural variations, developmental tasks and health promotion, restoration, and maintenance activities related to physical and psychosocial changes across the life span are reemphasized. Outcome strategies to address identified health problems are provided during each system discussion. Taught: Fall Prerequisite(s): Admission to Nursing Program.
