MUP 131: Applied Composition Lessons (30-minute lesson)

Goal: To encourage and further both musical and technical development as a means of expressing creatively through musical composition.
Content: Techniques and styles of various genres, periods, and schools of composition. Concert and/or masterclass attendance is required.
Repeatable: Students may repeat each level only once for a total of two credits in each level.
Prerequisite(s): Approval of department chair or instructor. Students must earn 2 hours at each level before moving to the next higher level.
