HPC 450: Culminating Inquiries: The HPGCS Senior Research Seminar Goal: This culminating course for the HPGCS major guides students through the creation of a substantial scholarly project that demonstrates their intellectual growth and research capabilities developed throughout their interdisciplinary studies. Working within a collaborative colloquium format, students will refine complex research questions, engage with diverse theoretical frameworks, and produce original scholarship that bridges disciplinary boundaries. The iterative research process includes structured checkpoints for proposal development, methodological refinement, analysis, and revision. Students will regularly present their evolving work to peers and faculty, fostering a community of scholars engaged in constructive critique. This course emphasizes not only academic rigor but also the broader applications and implications of humanities and social science research in addressing contemporary challenges. The final artifact, typically a research paper or equivalent scholarly project, serves as both a demonstration of academic achievement and a foundation for future professional or scholastic endeavors.
