BUS 107: Personal Financial Literacy Goal: This course is designed to introduce the student to basic financial literacy skills to help them make responsible financial decisions. Goals of this course include (1) To grow your financial knowledge by beginning with the basics of money management and how to become a smart earner, spender, and investor; (2) To introduce you to key financial concepts around taxes, credit, and money management; (3) To provide both understanding and confidence as you begin to navigate your own route to future financial security; and (4) To discover how education, career choices, and financial planning can lead you in the right direction to making your life simpler, steadier, and enjoyable. Content: Concepts covered include financial planning, bank accounts, credit and loans, wages and taxes, investments, and insurance. Students will gain the information and skills to implement a life-long plan for financial success. Credit: 3 Degree Level: Undergraduate
