KOR 102: Elementary Korean II Goal: To teach students to speak, understand, read, and write Korean. Content: Students will continue to learn how to communicate in basic Korean. By the end of this course students should be able to: 1. Produce basic Korean using culturally accurate and natural pronunciation, accent and intonation. 2. Carry on short conversations about daily life, family, and other people. 3. Comprehend a written and spoken communication in the target language on a topic of everyday life using appropriate target vocabulary. 4. Create culturally appropriate notes, messages, and paragraphs related to self, family and immediate surroundings. 5. Use the Korean language appropriately with regard to culture and formality. Prerequisite(s): A student must earn a grade of C or better in the 101-level course in order to continue into the next course. A grade of D or higher in the 102-level course will satisfy proficiency credit. Credit: 3 Degree Level: Undergraduate
